LoadLens — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

LoadLens is a Chrome extension that overlays the freight load boards DAT One and Truckstop that you are already logged into, and scores each load's profitability (revenue-per-mile after deadhead, fuel and the lane market median) together with an Hours-of-Service feasibility badge. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles, why, and what we do and do not do with it.

1. Data we process

Stored locally on your device (chrome.storage.local)

Sent to our backend (loadlens.krait.studio)

DataPurpose
Aggregated load attributes — origin/destination market, equipment type, posted rate, loaded and deadhead miles, weight, broker MC number Building anonymized per-lane rate medians and market-strength signals shared back to all users. Broker/dispatcher contact details (phone numbers, emails, names matching contact patterns) are stripped on the device before sending.
Account email and password Optional sign-in for Pro features. Passwords are transmitted over HTTPS and stored only as a salted hash on the server; they are never stored in the extension.
Driver profiles you create — name, home market, equipment, HOS hours, cost-per-mile, status Stored under your account so your fleet settings power load scoring across devices.
Broker reputation reports you submit (MC number + outcome such as paid / slow / flaked) Crowd-sourced broker reliability shown to other users. One verdict per user per broker.
Anonymous client ID Deduplicating crowd submissions without an account.

2. What we do NOT collect

3. How we use the data

Data is used solely to operate the extension's single purpose: scoring the loads you see and showing market and broker context. Load attributes are aggregated into anonymized lane statistics; individual postings are not republished.

4. Data sharing

Data is processed only by LoadLens and our hosting infrastructure required to run the service.

5. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored data can be cleared at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage. You can permanently delete your account from the extension popup: open the account section and use "Delete account". This immediately and permanently removes your account and your driver profiles from our servers. You can also email us at the address below to request deletion.

6. Security

All communication between the extension and our backend uses HTTPS. Account passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Authentication uses short-lived access tokens with refresh rotation.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and reflect the change in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
